EL PAPEL DE LOS COMITÉS DE BIOÉTICA EN LA HUMANIZACIÓN DE LA ASISTENCIA A LA SALUD
Un Comité de Bioética puede ser definido como un cuerpo interdisciplinario de personas que tienen como objetivo enseñar, investigar, prestar asesoramientos y sugerir normas institucionales en asuntos éticos. Representan un avance en las instituciones de salud por auxiliar a los equipos a tomar decisiones difíciles, que envuelven múltiples aspectos de la naturaleza moral y representan verdaderos dilemas. El presente trabajo muestra el concepto y la experiencia operacional de un comité de esta naturaleza, en nuestro medio.

THE ROLE OF THE BIOETHICS COMMITTEES IN THE HUMANIZATION OF HEALTHCARE.
A Bioethics Committee can be defined as an interdisciplinary cluster of people whose objective is to teach, research, provide consultancy, and suggest institutional norms on ethical matters. These committees represent a major step forward in healthcare institutions, as they help in critical decision-making involving multiple moral issues often leading to impasse. This paper presents the concept of such a committee, and the experience of running one in a medical setting.
